Good food doesn't have to be difficult…
Burgers who doesn’t love a burger? Surely everyone does right? Burgers though are not the main reason behind this post it is what I put with them that has been a rather fun discovery. Now, I’m probably super late to the game (and with some amazing camera skills they’re barely visible in the photo) but Swede Chips, who’d have thought it?
I know that you can roast root vegetables like swede but I haven’t actually tried it and these worked very well indeed! They’re even lower in calories than your standard chips, which is always a bonus.

For the burgers I kept it super simple as you can see from the ingredients. I don’t think you need to put anything else in so long as you have good quality beef to start with. Which, I’m pleased to say I did as I have a fantastic butcher just down the road.
Of course you can add stuff to your burger, wrapping a slice of mozzarella inside the patty is always a nice surprise for people when they bite into it! The amounts in this recipe can make either 2 or 4 burgers depending on how you like them. Stick everything in a bowl and get your hands in to make sure everything is really mixed together. Also, if you can make them in the morning or even the night before that’s great! They then have time to rest in the fridge, this way they shouldn’t fall apart when you cook them!
Now, for the swede chips, you cannot get much easier. Peel the swede either with a speed peeler or a knife and then cut it into chips. I went for thick chips but if you like thin, fries style chips feel free! There’s no right way and at the end of the day, its chips!!
Once you have your chips put them in a freezer bag add the oil and the salt and pepper and give them a good shake. Turn the heat up on your oven as high as it will go, put the chips on a baking tray and roast them until they are nice and crispy. Then serve them and smother them in ketchup or whatever you fancy dipping them in.
