Burgers! Everyone loves a burger right? These ones are different but still fabulous. I know it’s a while ago now but for Christmas 2014 I was given J Sheekey’s fish cookbook. It’s a treasure trove of amazing fish dishes and this one is based on a fish burger.
I’ve seen fish burgers use Mackerel, Tuna and pretty much every white fish. I had never actually made any though, so:
- 150g raw king prawns
- 150g white haddock
- 40g smoked haddock
- 60g diced white onion
- 1 crushed clove garlic
This recipe makes about three decent sized burgers, well it did for me. Put all of your ingredients in a food processor and pulse it until it’s all cut finely and you can form it into patties. I used a burger press to make mine but if you haven’t got one, the lid from a peanut butter jar works rather well too!
Once you have your burgers made, they need to chill in the fridge for at least an hour so that they don’t fall apart when you cook them. Once they have chilled heat a little oil in a pan and lightly fry them on either side for around a minute. Then, transfer them to the oven and bake them at around 180c. Once they’re done stick them in some soft rolls with tartar sauce and you’re good to go!
